Martin Ryan

 

Martin Ryan is a post-graduate researcher in the UCD School of Economics PhD program. He is also affiliated to the UCD Geary Institute, where he has worked as a research assistant on a number of projects, most of which related to higher education and graduate labour markets. He has submited a thesis for a research masters at DIT (2007), in which he examined the micro-econometrics of participation in higher education.

Martin secured funding from the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences (IRCHSS) to begin his PhD thesis in autumn 2007. In his research as a Government of Ireland Scholar he will investigate how individuals arrive at various outcomes throughout higher education.

Martin holds a degree in business studies from the Dublin Institute of Technology (2004), where he specialised in financial and monetary economics. This was followed by an internship in the economics department at AlB (2004), a post-graduate diploma in economic science from UCD (2005) and a summer-school diploma in advanced microeconomics from the London School of Economics (2007).
