Mapping the Irish State

flagsThis interdisciplinary research programme brings together researchers from UCD School of Politics and International Relations, UCD School of Law, UCD School of Mathematical Sciences, and the IPA, in an innovative approach to understanding policy processes in Ireland. At the core of the project is the construction of a time-series database of national-level state institutions, in which we track structural change and institutional innovation. By coding institutions for a whole range of attributes, we will be able profile changes in both form and function of the Irish state over time. This database provides the raw material for a variety of theoretically informed studies of policy processes in a range of domains. The project is funded by an IRCHSS Thematic Research Grant and has also received support from the UCD Seed Funding Scheme. For more information see here. Read more...
